I don't think its too strange that he wants to stay, hes obviously well settled in Liverpool and he doesn't seem the kind of player that wants to move if its not necessesary (I think he mentioned that once in an interview, but my memory fails me a little on this point). He's a great defender, really, but if he does go now, it seems to be like he will be going a la Finns. Which is tragic really.
I hope he doesn't go. And I'd be sad to see him at Milan but; 'At the end of the day, it comes down to the starting regularity and the love of the game, no matter what kit its done in or on what ground. is something that I can't help but agree with you on.
